Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Kahaniverse (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and services (the “Service”). By using Kahaniverse you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: when you register we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password. If you sign in with Google, X (Twitter), or Instagram, we receive basic profile information from that provider.
- Content you create: the universes, stories, pages, illustrations, and reactions you contribute to the platform.
- Usage data: log and device information such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed, used to operate and secure the Service.
- Cookies: we use cookies to keep you signed in (session cookies) and to understand usage. See the Cookies section below.
2. How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure;
- To display your public author profile and the content you publish;
- To send transactional messages such as password resets;
- To detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, fraud, and security issues;
- To understand how the Service is used through aggregate analytics.
3. What is public
Kahaniverse is a publishing platform. Your author profile, your published universes, stories, pages, and your reactions are visible to others. We never publicly expose your email address, date of birth, or authentication identifiers.
4. Cookies and analytics
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in, and we use third-party analytics tools (such as Google Analytics and Meta Pixel) to measure usage and improve the Service. These tools may set their own cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect functionality such as staying signed in.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
- With service providers who help us run the Service (for example hosting, database, email delivery, and analytics providers), under appropriate confidentiality obligations;
- When required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service;
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice where required.
6. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us; some information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including hashing passwords and encrypting data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email help@kahaniverse.com.
9. Children’s privacy
Kahaniverse is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
